Hand-Embroidered Sachets - Easy to Make!

Aren't these the cutest little things ever?  Thanks to the generous crafters on Pinterest, I learned how to hand-embroider these lavender-filled sachets from a tea towel and embroidery floss that I had laying around from other projects.  The only thing that I spent money on was the lavender inside.

Here's what I learned making them:

Measure and draw cutting lines onto the fabric.  I made mine about 4" square.

Draw your designs right onto the fabric using water-soluble marker.  These are available at fabric and craft stores.

Use a 4" embroidery hoop.  They are small enough to fit in your handbag (so you can embroider anywhere!).

Cut the fabric using a rotary cutter, straight-edge and self-healing mat, if you have them.  Makes cutting a quick, easy breeze!

Sew inside-out, leaving a gap about 1" wide along one edge.  Turn right-side out and press.  Fill with lavender buds using a small funnel.  Hand-stitch opening closed.

Have Fun!
